01 / THE MISSION

“Guard Bum” is
a term of affection.

A Guard Bum is a citizen-Soldier who knows how to make the lifestyle work: finding opportunities, traveling light, staying ready, and building a good life between drill weekends.

This site is for traditional Guardsmen, technicians, AGRs, retirees, and families navigating a career that never fits neatly into one weekend a month. No recruiting pitch. No official spin. Just useful information from someone who has lived it.

starts here.

Coming soon. GuardBum is seeking guidance before publishing any summarized Tour of Duty information.

PROPOSED APPROACH

A useful pointer—not a replacement for TOD.

If authorized, GuardBum would display only four general fields: MOS, rank, approximate tour duration, and approximate location.

Soldiers would sign in to their own authorized TOD/MOBCOP account for complete details, eligibility, current availability, application instructions, and submission. No active TOD listings are publicly displayed during this preview.
